"Pork Pies to die for"
A review of Birds (Derby) Ltd by P.P.Lover - Tuesday 22nd of September 2009
I now live in Milton Keynes,(stop laughing) after being raised and living in Derby for many years. My wife and I still visit the area and when we do we always make a point of gong to a Birds shop and buying a pork pie and some rolls. The only fault that I have found is that we can no longer walk into a Birds shop and get a large pork pie. We never know when we are going to get to Derby but I believe that they have now to be ordered a couple of days in advance. I remember the days when I used to go to the shop in St. James St. and queue for a pie, in those days they were always available, you could even buy a half of one, I say they were always available but by early afternoon pretty well everything was sold out. The small ones just don't taste the same but are still pretty good.
