"Change of hands????"A review of Chiquito by Laura jackson - Monday 19th of March 2007I would just like to say how totally disappointed i am! I regularly got to Old Orleans in Derby and i have never had a bad experience. The ribs are the best, the chips with the skin on - delicious, the spicy coleslaw - great!! I have always been thoroughly impressed by the food and the service. But i was amazingly shocked when i went on Saturday(17th March). Im assuming it has changed hands or something as everything has gone so down hill! The portions are tiny! The ribs were awful, small and all bone. The chicken wings were scarce - i usually get about 5 - this time i got 3!and they were nothing like they used to be. The coleslaw seemed to be one from a local supermarket, and they have stopped doing the corn on the cob. They were out of strawberry ice cream and out of onion rings! Now i am not usually one to write these sort of things but when you enjoy something so much and for it to be changed in such an appalling way - it just makes me want to inform people. I hope that the managers will read this as i have spoken to others about it and they too have had awful meals recently. Dont get me wrong - the food is ok. But it is as ok as a pub lunch. Oh and to top it off the prices have gone up!!! Im sorry but i wont be going there again in a hurry.... Ive always been told to go to Daemons but irefused as Old Orleans has always been such a fantastic meal. I certainly will have a secong think next time.... i know it wont be old orleans i chose. to summarise, the food is of cheaper quality, the portions are smaller, they have stopped doing alot of the favourites.and the prices have gone up. Why spoil something that was so nice??? |
